Let's Ride: Peak FItness

The 11th Annual Guns & Hoses Charity Bike Ride to benefit the Kootenai County Police & Fire Memorial Foundation will be held at Peak Health and Wellness Center in Coeur d'Alene this year! Teams of 12 will get sponsors and take 1 hour shifts cycling, starting at 12pm and ending at midnight! But wait, there's more!

While the teams are hard at work, there will be lots of activities going on throughout the day. Best dressed luau-themed costume prizes, silent auction, scavenger hunts, beer garden & food, and more!

Stop by throughout the day to support the Foundation and bid on some awesome silent auction baskets! Need not be present to win. Winners will be announced and contacted.

We are fortunate to live in a community that cares about the lives of first responders within Kootenai County. We are equally grateful to the local businesses who support the community that they do business within. This is true of Gyro Shack, Coeur D’Alene who recently raised and contributed $533 to Kootenai County Police & Fire Memorial Foundation during their 1 year anniversary celebration.

From September 17-23, 2018, Gyro Shack pledged to donate 10% of their sales resulting in a $533 contribution for Memorial Foundation.

Many thanks to the staff and management during their busy week and to all who came out to enjoy their meal at Gyro Shack!

Great news! The 13th Annual Memorial Foundation Avondale Golf Tournament is now open for registration. Hold on to your seats because this year we are offering online registration through the Eventbrite platform! We are very exited to be offering this added convenience. The change allows us to be better prepared for all the those interested in making advance arrangements to play for the day and also to give our attention to those last minute stragglers who register on the day of the event itself. Either way you will be better served with less lines, less waiting and more time on the golf course enjoying the day 🌝.

It’s a gonna be a great event and a great day. We look forward to having you register online  and seeing you on the day of the event.

Pennies for Protectors

Pennies for Protectors is an annual fundraising event organized by elementary school kids from Hayden Meadows Elementary School. Guided by the teaching leadership of Kristen Childers, each year they collect spare change to donate to first responders within their local community with a donation to Kootenai County Police and Fire Memorial Foundation. This year we are pleased to announce that the children raised $340.68 dollars. We are so proud and grateful to these little extraordinary human beings for their efforts, enthusiasm and demonstrated commitment to the community they live within.

To date children from Hayden Meadows Elementary have raised $5,600. The actions that these children demonstrate are a testament to future generations and citizens of Kootenai County who will continue to demonstrate and embody the values and ethics of giving back and getting involved in the communities which nurture this kind of exemplary conduct.

Thank you Hayden Meadows Elementary and Kristen Childers for fostering a spirit of generosity in our young people.
