In the Community, Our Responsibilty

Each year Year the Memorial Foundation will execute fundraising opportunities with the intent of; building first responders social awareness within Kootenai County and our surrounding community, articulating the critical needs of first responders who experience unforeseen catastrophes and execute grant making for those first responders and their families who require financial support.

10TH ANNUAL MEMORIAL FOUNDATION AVONDALE  TOURNAMENT

We have a great day of golf scheduled for you and your friends.  The shotgun start will begin at 9:30 am.  However, we invite you to come early for registration; Starbucks coffee and rolls; raffle packages and silent auction bidding; and free practice time at the Avondale driving range. A sit-down dinner will follow the conclusion of the golf tournament.

The Foundation prides itself on making this golf tournament a fun day.  We provide comfort stations throughout the course to enhance players’ experiences, ranging from classic BBQ and world champion chili to wine-tasting and the crowd pleasing Margaritas.  In addition, the tournament includes a variety of contests: men's & women's longest drive, closest to the pin, hole-in-one giveaways, and games of chance.

Please support the first responders (firefighters and police officers) who protect your city and county, by participating in this worthwhile fundraiser.

MEMORIAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

DEADLINE IS APRIL 7, 2017

Each year Kootenai County Police & Fire Memorial Foundation supports a promising young scholar with the Memorial Foundation Scholarship Award. Each year the Memorial Foundation awards a $5,000 scholarship to a graduating Kootenai County high school senior.  Only children and step-children of qualifying first responders are eligible to apply.

The Memorial Foundation Award is a merit scholarship and the single most important factor is academic achievement, but the selection committee also considers many other criteria, including personal character, extracurricular accomplishments, and potential for success.

The selection committee requires two letters of recommendation.  One must be from a teacher or counselor, and neither may be written by a relative.
